The Thinking Egg
So here is a weird project. The idea of the thinking egg is that we’re all moving too fast, and we need something to remind us to slow down and live in the moment. Apparently these little eggs will do that. I’m not sure how much I agree with the premise that we’re all too busy – I enjoy my job and make it work with my family – but that doesn’t change the fact that these are really nicely made little things. There is something incredibly rewarding owning and holding well made things, and at just a few dollars each I’m really intrigued by this project. FYI I stuck an affiliate link in above, so if you click through I might make a few pence on anything you order, but on such a cheap project it’ll basically be meaningless! I’ve ordered 3, and I might even up that over the next few days and give away a few as I think they’ll make lovely gifts.
Kelvin Home Coffee Roaster
For large numbers of people on social media, coffee seems to be considered a replacement for a personality. Nobody cares if you’re a coffee drinker, take it out of your profile. Anyway, coffee is nice. But how many of us get to roast our own? This new project on Kickstarter was funded in just 3 hours and looks like it could be a lot of fun for a few weeks before you put it in the cupboard and go back to buying pre-roasted beans. Starting at $230 it’s not cheap, but if you’re in to coffee it could be a good introduction to home roasting before you spend a fortune on something bigger and more powerful.

That’s it for now. I’m going to watch the England ladies v Wales ladies football match in Southampton tonight. If you’re going to be there let me know and I’ll buy you a drink!
